Mr. Cates is the founder of the
firm. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University
with a Bachelors Degree in Communication, studying primarily in the
area of persuasion. He attended Arizona State University College of
Law distinguishing himself in oral argument competitions and
participating on the Trial Advocacy Team.
In the area of criminal law, Mr. Cates has experience handling a
variety of cases from major felonies in Federal Court to
misdemeanors in municipal court. No matter what the case, Mr. Cates,
has the experience to handle your case effectively and at a
reasonable rate.Mr. Cates
is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers,
the American Bar Association, Criminal Law Section; the Maricopa
County Bar Association, Criminal Law Section;; the Association of

Mr. Hanson is a partner in the
firm. He graduated from the Arizona State University College of Law
in the top third of his class and was the recipient of several
awards while a student there, including a Dean’s Award from Arizona
State University College of Law, Student Fellow by the Arizona Bar
Foundation, and Outstanding Student Volunteer by the Maricopa County
Bar Association. He also was twice noted in Who’s Who of American
Law Students and has been the author of several published articles.
Mr. Hanson has handled a wide variety of legal matters as a director
of a low income legal services project, as a Rule 38 prosecutor
through the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, and in his own
private practice as a trial attorney with an emphasis in family law,
personal injury, and commercial/construction litigation. He is
admitted to practice both in AZ and the U.S. District Court and is a
a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers in America, AZ Trial
Lawyers Association, Construction Law and Litigation Sections of the
State Bar of AZ, and the Family Law and Litigation Sections of the
Maricopa County Bar Assoc. |

Before joining the Firm in 2005, Bill
Sargeant had been a Superior Court Judge in Phoenix for almost 20
years. He served over nine years in Family Law and Juvenile Law.
Previously he had been in private practice for over twenty years
trying a variety of Civil cases.
He is often asked to arbitrate Civil disputes and handles a variety
of Civil litigation. His passion and commitment to the welfare of
children has led him to focus his practice on Family Law and
Juvenile Law. He has extensive experience with Dependency and
Severance of Parental Rights.
His knowledge, experience and contacts throughout the Valley can
help to resolve your hardship in family matters. |

Leslie has been a Certified
Specialist in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death litigation since
1996. She received her Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and
Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of New Mexico. She
handled the defense of personal injury cases from 1990 through 2005,
first as house counsel for State Farm Insurance, and then for Zurich
Insurance. Leslie has tried over fifty personal injury cases
to a jury. She remains active on the Member's Assistance
Committee of the State Bar of Arizona. At Harvard Law School
in 2003, she became certified as an instructor for the National
Institute of Trial Advocacy. Leslie has been on the faculty of
the Arizona College of Trial Advocacy for several years. |
